Fall Cheerleading 2011

This is a picture of all the girls lined up watching the blue and gold game.  It is always our first game of the season.  They take our football team and split them in half.  One team is blue and one wears white.  And we have a scrimage game.  It is good practice for both the football team and the cheerleaders to start off the new season.
This is Morgan in an exstention at the Blue and Gold game.  She is pretty nervous.  This is her first time infront of a crowd.  And all she is standing on are 2 girls hands with another girl holding her ankles.  I think I would be nervous too.

We just built a pyramid and now we have to get down.  Morgan has quiet the concentrated look on her face.

Ok, the sides are down, so her she comes... pop!
and catch.

This is Ashley in an extesion.  Her bases are Katelyn and Katie.  Sadie is her back.  Morgan is the one in front watching.
This is how we get down.  Morgan is studying the technique.  She's getting it.  By the middle of basketball season I think she will really be confident in what she is doing.  Plus she will be awesome!

Here is a pyramid at a football game.  Hope is on the left.  Morgan is in the middle and Ashley in on the right.
This is another option for them to get down.  Morgan bumps-down in the middle, while the 2 sides pop and cradle.  That way if the sides move at all the middle group doesn't get hit because they are so close.
You can't see the whole process of this stunt.  But, all three groups are doing retakes.  They come down to where they can catch their bases shoulders then push themselves back up to either elevators (level 1 or shoulder hieght) or to an extention (level 2 with the bases arms extended).  Morgan is just a little bit behind the other 2.  But, that is ok.  This is Ashley's fourth year flying and Hope's third.  So, she is doing really well to keep up with them as good as she does!
On this cheer, there are 2 groups holding signs.  One says blue and one says gold.  Ashley is usually gold.  But, Katelyn (one of Ashley's bases) had a rodeo this game.  So, Morgan's group had to fill in.  This is the first cheer Morgan has ever done with a sign.  She was really scared because the first time she practiced it she swung the sign so hard she about knocked herself off the top.  So, she was nervous about the wind and the sign.  But, she did great!  She might have even smiled once:)

Great Job Morgan!!! We'll see you at basketball season.
