Homecoming 2011

Tanner turned 16 this August.  So, he gets to date.  This summer he has been hanging out with TJ.  She is a super cute girl.  TJ is terrified of cops.  So, to ask her to homecoming, Tanner talk to one of the cops in our ward and he said he would help him out.  We have cheer practice at 6 in the morning, TJ is on cheer.  So, Officer Jessop waited for her to head up the street to practice and run the stop sign that everyone runs in the early morning.  She runs it.  He pulls her over.  He gives her the whole run down about license and registration. Jessop tells her it is about a $400 ticket to run a stop sign.  By now, TJ is almost in tears.  Jessop even asked her if she was alright.  But, then he pulled out this certificate that I helped Tanner make and told TJ that he would throw away the ticket if she would agree to the terms on the paper.  Well, now she was relieved but threatening Tanner bodily harm.  We laughed!!! It was pretty funny.

TJ and Tanner at TJ's house just before the dance.  He was pretty nervous.  TJ has two older brothers that give him a hard time.  (does him good)  Some of her brothers friends were over there when Tanner went to pick her up.  One of them, Hank, even posed them for this picture.

To answer him.  TJ had her brother come and kidnap him early in the morning and drive him around while TJ and her Mom saran wrapped his truck.  They put silly string all over it and cookies.  The cookies on the windshield said yes.  I asked him if he was scared.  No said no.  Because when TJ, her brother, and who ever else helped them came in to get him they were really loud and woke him up (he has always been a light sleeper).  He could hear what they were saying.  Tanner didn't want to ruin her plans so he just pretended to be asleep and played along.  He said the breakfast they fed him while TJ was trashing his truck was good...

We told Tanner to make sure you pick her up at the door.  Make sure you open doors for her.  Make sure you let her in the truck, etc.  Well, he got so nervous he forgot to open the truck door for her.  Hank came outside, made Tanner and TJ go back inside for a redo.  He told Tanner he better open that door for her.  Marlee, TJ's mom, told Rhett and I that story.  Rhett's response was,"Good, I told him to treat her right!"  So, he's learning...
